On Applauding from a Seat

We feel your pain , little bird
We feel your fear, little hero
We feel your hunger and defeat

But, we have to admit:
We do enjoy the scene
For we all need to watch someone lose
We need to see someone retreat

That reminds us of how lucky we are
That we only fight battles of our size
That we fight only the enemies we create

When you fall, little bird
We will say that we love you
That we feel your anger
We will assure you that we know how it feels
